Full Stack Software Engineer
ArtlyArtly AI | Seattle, WA | Full-time | On-site
The full job description covers all associated skills, previous experience, and any qualifications that applicants are expected to have.
Artly AI builds robots and the software that makes them useful in the real world. We are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer who can independently build, ship, and operate reliable software—and who has clear evidence of using AI development tools to deliver substantial production systems.
You will work across the stack on applications, services, data workflows, and tools that support our products and operations. We want to understand what you built, how it performed in production, which parts you personally owned, and how AI helped you deliver it. In your first 30 days, you will learn our architecture and operating workflow, reproduce local and deployment environments, and ship multiple small production improvements with tests and monitoring.
What you will do
• Own features and systems from requirements and architecture through implementation, release, monitoring, and iteration.
• Build web applications, APIs, backend services, data workflows, integrations, and internal tools.
• Develop software that helps our team and operators manage real-world robotic systems and operations.
• Use AI coding assistants and agentic development tools to accelerate implementation, debugging, testing, documentation, and refactoring.
• Review generated changes and validate correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
• Improve tests, CI/CD, observability, deployment and rollback procedures, reusable components, and documentation.
What we are looking for
• Strong professional software development experience, typically five or more years, or equivalent evidence of exceptional independent delivery.
• Meaningful ownership of software used in production, including responsibility after launch.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills and experience building frontend applications with React.
• Strong backend development skills in Java and Spring Boot, including APIs, databases, authentication/authorization, integrations, and failure handling.
• Practical experience with automated tests, code review, cloud deployment, monitoring, and production debugging.
• Demonstrated use of AI development tools on substantial real codebases. You can explain the workflow, show what improved, and describe how you found and corrected errors.
• Good technical judgment, clear communication, and the ability to make progress with incomplete requirements.
Useful additional experience
Robotics, IoT, telemetry, device management, 3D simulation, data pipelines, AI/ML tooling, distributed systems, infrastructure automation, or broad product ownership in a small team.
Compensation and benefits
Base salary: $100,000–$170,000 per year, depending on relevant skills and experience.
Benefits: stock options; 20 paid vacation days; 10 paid holidays; separate paid sick leave; and medical, dental, and vision coverage. Artly pays 50% of employee insurance premiums under its current plan. Eligibility and terms are subject to applicable company benefit plans.
How to apply
Submit your résumé and a short description of one substantial production system you shipped using AI development tools. Explain what it does, how it is used, the components and decisions you personally owned, how you used AI, how you verified the code, and one concrete outcome.
Links to a product, public repository, portfolio, or technical write-up are welcome. A sanitized description is sufficient for confidential work; please do not share proprietary code or sensitive employer information.
We value demonstrated contribution, engineering judgment, and reliable delivery. We do not evaluate AI proficiency by lines of generated code or by the percentage of code written by a tool.
Interview process
First-round technical interview with Tong Liu, followed by a second or final interview with Meng Wang. xxzpjkt Technical evaluation may include a sanitized prior-project walkthrough and a bounded repository exercise; AI tools are allowed and encouraged.
